Welcome to Pretty Content!
Hello and welcome to the Pretty Content blog! I hope this can be a space for creatives, whether professional or hobbyist, to learn a bit more about design, code, and general creativity. Let’s get started!
Hello, I’m Aisling!
It’s said like “Ashleen,” if you were wondering!
I’m a creative designer, coder, and writer, with over a decade of experience as a professional web/app/print designer. Originally from Calgary, Canada, for the last 7 years, I’ve called the beautiful South Coast of England home. I love autumn, musical theatre, and the 1940s. I am an ENFJ, Enneagram 6, and enthusiastic dog person.
I’ve written– no joke– probably over 20 different blogs since I first started one 20 years ago. You may recognise me from one (or all?) of them, like Anthologie, Aisybee, Wanderlustful, or Dreamling.

Creativity, design & being online
All of the blogs listed above firmly fell into the personal/lifestyle category, but I’m back with something with a bit of a more focused niche! I really want to share with you everything I know about design, life online, and being creative!
If that’s still a bit too vague, you can expect things like:
- How I became a designer (and how you can become one too)
- Reviews of the different software and services that I use
- Guides to improving web accessibility on your website
- How I make pretty things with my iPad Pro
- My experiences trying new creative activities
- How you can make your blog even prettier
- Free resources for your own creative pursuits
It’s a bit of a mixed bag, but hopefully the overarching theme will be fun or educational things you can do in your creative life!

FYI: the name is meant to be a bit of a joke
Yes, I love aesthetically pleasing things. I live and breathe aesthetically pleasing things. I have been a professional designer for over a decade. I love photography and posting pretty things on Instagram!
But the name is also a nod to the side of me that is a little bit sassy. Yes, I am pretty content. Relatively happy. Things could be better, but they could also be a whole lot worse. ??♀️
Grab your favourite hot drink and let’s chat!
I’m that friend that you can always find sitting in a café, working away at her latest project, waiting for you to drop by for a chat. I love talking through problems (and finding solutions!), giving advice, or just having a catch-up.
What I’m trying to say is: if you have any questions about anything I’ve mentioned above, or anything else you want to know about creativity, design and being online, please do ask!
My door/DMs/inbox is always open!
