Red Moon Gang is a centralised resource for all things menstruation. Author and educator Tara Costello shares educational and inclusive resources about periods, as a companion to her debut book, also called Red Moon Gang, which was published in Spring 2021.

Process and concepts
I worked with Tara from Red Moon Gang to design and develop a new website ahead of the publication of her book by the same title in Spring 2021. The design is largely inspired by the book’s cover art, illustrated by Mary Purdie.
The website is designed to be a centralised place for readers to find information and resources about the Red Moon Gang book and periods in general. The key piece is the blog, where Tara writes a combination of evergreen posts about a range of topics including inclusivity, period poverty, and irregular periods, as well as topical articles about living with a period during a pandemic!
A major focus of the design is built around Tara’s own illustrations which she creates for her blog posts and Instagram feed. These are prominently featured throughout the site, most notably in the footer where the Instagram feed appears on every page.
